Diplomacy – Accreditation of Ambassadors Malawi - India - Denmark - Slovenia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation received H.E. Mr. Tedson Aubrey Kalebe, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Malawi;  H.E. Dr. Mohan Kumar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India;  H. E. Ms. Kirsten Malling Biering, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark and H.E. Mr. Andrej Slapnicar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Slovenia, who presented their Letters of Credence to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince this morning.

A specialist in the sector of economy and finance, H.E. Mr. Tedson Aubrey Kalebe joined the National Assembly of Malawi in 2004 as a member of the Parliamentary Committees on Industry and Commerce, Reforms, Budget and Finance.  He then held the posts of Minister of Energy and Mining and Vice-Minister of Finance before being appointed Executive Director at the Ministry of Finance/Local Development Fund.

H.E. Dr. Mohan Kumar entered Foreign Affairs in 1981 at the Permanent Mission of the United Nations in Geneva and pursued his career in the Indian Diplomatic Missions in Morocco and the Congo.  In 1990, he joined the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in New Delhi and began a partnership with the GATT/WTO in Geneva.  His career is characterised by his specialisation in multilateral diplomacy and WTO-related issues.  He was appointed Deputy Ambassador to Sri Lanka in 2001, then rejoined the MEA in New Delhi to supervise bilateral relations.

After 4 years at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), H.E. Ms. Kirsten Malling Biering began her diplomatic career in 1985 at the Permanent Representative of Denmark to NATO.  She was promoted to Ambassador to Latvia in 1991 and then rejoined the MFA in 1995 as Director of Eastern Countries and issues related to the Balkans.  She was appointed Ambassador to the OSCE from 2001 to 2005, and then to The Hague.

H.E. M. Andrej Slapnicar entered the NATO department of the MFA of the Republic of Slovenia in 1995.  In 2004, he became Advisor to the OSCE in Vienna and, in 2006, Minister Plenipotentiary in the Security Policy Department of the MFA.  He chaired the working group of the Anti-Terrorism Council and took part in negotiations on the future of arms control in Europe.  From 2008 to 2012, he held the post of Head of Unit for the Common Security and Defence Policy at the Department of Security Policy at the MFA.

The lunch given by the Department of Diplomatic and Consular Relations took place at the Hôtel Hermitage.  With Ms. Marie-Catherine Caruso-Ravera, Director of Diplomatic and Consular Relations, were the newly accredited Ambassadors;  H.E. Mr. Patrick Médecin, Ambassador of Monaco to India; Ms. Anne-Marie Boisbouvier, Advisor to the Prince's Cabinet;  Mr. Vincent Lozza, Director-General of Development & Services to Members of the Monaco Economic Board;  Ms. Tasha de Vasconcelos, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Malawi;  Mr. Philippe Orengo, Honorary Consul General of Denmark and Mr. Marc Lecourt, Honorary Consul General of Slovenia.
