Representatives of Monaco Tourist and Convention Authority (DTC), accompanied by the Ambassador of Monaco to India, H.E. Mr. Patrick Médecin, undertook a visit to India from 24 to 27 November.

Today, India is still one of the destinations that offer the greatest potential for tourism in the Principality.  With economic development that ranked the country 7th in the world in 2014, the prospects are immense for both private and business travel.

This is the spirit in which the DTC opened an office in New Delhi 6 years ago and in which it has just undertaken a road show in Bombay and New Delhi.  These two towns alone represent 25 million inhabitants;  and above all, 60% of Indian tourists travel abroad for their holidays.

Mr Koji Ito, Director of Leisure Sales at the Fairmont Monte Carlo, also played an active part in the Roadshow, as, with regard to the hotel trade, India is positioned in 2nd place in terms of the Asian market, behind Japan, which still occupies first place, closely followed by China in third place.
