Turner, the sublime legacy
This summer 2024, the Grimaldi Forum Monaco, in collaboration with the Tate, is unveiling the exhibition Turner, the sublime legacy.
Presenting a collection of key works in an original scenography covering more than 2,000 m2, this exhibition is an invitation to take a journey through the sublime representations of Joseph Mallord William Turner's universe, from his landscapes to the elementary explorations of light and atmosphere of which he was the precursor and master.
Turner's decisive influence on painting, and by extension his legacy, will be contrasted throughout the exhibition, in dialogue with some thirty works by major modern and contemporary artists.
The exhibition will run at the Grimaldi Forum from 6 July to 1 September 2024.
